SUMMARY:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting Store Management in maximizing sales, providing a great shopping experience for the customer and managing the store in accordance with the company visual and operational standards. The Assistant Manager assumes responsibility for the operations of a store as “Manager-on-Duty” in the absence of the Store Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Leadership
• Assumes Manager’s role in supervising staff in absence of the Store Manager
• Strives to meet and exceed store goals, ensures selling standards are met
• Works with customers and models excellent sales and customer service skills
• Maximizes sales through strong floor supervision
Associate Development
• Ensures associates are trained on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service and other operations
• Provides training information and feedback to Sales Associates
• Ensures Associates are trained on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service and operations
• Creates enthusiasm and excitement within store to motivate high performance teams
Operations Excellence
• Protects store payroll by adhering to wage cost guidelines and allowable hours
• Control company assets and promote shrink awareness through key control, loss prevention measures, inventory results and company standards of conduct
• Strives for 100% paperwork accuracy and compliance in: cash, inventory, fixtures and property
Store Standards
• Helps execute floor-set and promotional directives
• Works as a member of the team to insure all store standards are met
• Understands, supports and complies with all company policies and procedures
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• Two years retail experience
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School graduate or equivalent
